The GrateFULL Mind
The GrateFULL Mind Center was founded by Sema Syed, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, in 2019 with the goal of providing quality therapeutic services and workshops to individuals aiming to make a positive change in their lives. Sema has been working with children, women, families and individuals for over 15 years and started the GrateFULL Mind Center to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space tailored to one's own unique experience. We are based out of Los Angeles and provide services to the entire state of California.
Let's be honest, therapy has received a bad reputation among people of color including minority, marginalized and immigrant communities. Sometimes it's hard to ask for help, let alone seek out therapy. However, we are living in unprecedented times and in the past few decades people from minority backgrounds have been making a great impact on quality mental health care. This is no surprise because they are bringing their perspective as a person of color to the table. Available, now more than ever before, are approaches and frameworks in therapy that align with the dynamic needs of such communities.
At GrateFULL Mind, our therapists align with the foundations of the minority experience in our therapeutic work. Our therapists are kind, caring, and open to connecting with you in a culturally responsive way. Gone are the days where one could readily sit with the elders and soak up their wisdom. Rather, in todays world, therapy has the potential of unlocking a sacred space that is safe and confidential enough to talk about your troubles no matter how big or small. We are committed to quality mental health care that is tailored to your needs. Allow us to help you navigate this special space.
